PanoramicaA1
Ogni tempo semplice ha un verbo ausiliare: will per il futuro, do / does per il presente, did per il passato.
- Nelle domande l'ausiliare va prima del soggetto; nelle frasi negative prende not: don't, doesn't, didn't, won't.
- Dopo ogni ausiliare il verbo principale è alla forma base: Does she work? / She didn't work. — Lei lavora? / Lei non ha lavorato.
- Le frasi affermative al present e al past simple non hanno ausiliare: è il verbo stesso a prendere -s (he, she, it) o -ed.
- will e did sono uguali per tutte le persone; solo il present cambia con he, she, it.
- be ha forme proprie: am / is / are, was / were. Vedi Il verbo to be.

- La parola interrogativa va per prima: parola interrogativa + do / does + soggetto + verbo. Where does he live? — Dove abita lui?
- A2Quando who o what è il soggetto, il verbo segue subito, con -s: Who lives here? — Chi abita qui?
- Altre strutture interrogative: Domande e negazioni.
