## Overview

- These verbs change their stem: learn their forms by heart, in groups of verbs that look alike. Je **vais** au marché. / Ils **font** du sport. (I go to the market. / They play sport.)
- Almost always, **nous** takes **-ons**, **vous** takes **-ez** and **ils** takes **-ent**. Nous **allons** au parc. / Vous **venez** demain ? / Elles **prennent** le train. (We're going to the park. / Are you coming tomorrow? / They take the train.)
- Three forms are exceptions: **vous faites**, **ils font** and **ils vont**. **Vous faites** du sport ? / Ils **vont** au cinéma. (Do you play sport? / They go to the cinema.)
- Verbs in **-ir** and **-re** go in families: one model serves every verb of the family. Il **choisit** un livre. / Elle **part** à six heures. / Nous **vendons** du pain. (He chooses a book. / She leaves at six. / We sell bread.)
- The regular verbs in **-er** are in Present Tense: -er Verbs.
- For **être** and **avoir**, see Être and avoir.
- For **pouvoir**, **vouloir** and **devoir**, see Modal Verbs: pouvoir, vouloir, devoir.
